Steven R. Whitley, CPA
Steven R. Whitley, CPA was raised in Winter Haven, FL and moved to Fort Myers when he joined Taylor, Edenfield, Gilliam & Wiltshire in 1975 upon graduation from Stetson University. Following the acquisition by Coopers & Lybrand Rusty became the partner in charge of tax services for the firm’s Southwest Florida operations. He is a former trustee of the Southwest Florida Community Foundation, the former president and program chair of the Speakers Assembly of Southwest Florida, and former board member of Classic Basketball, Inc., the organizers of the annual City of Palms Classic high school basketball tournament, the Uncommon Friends Foundation, the Anne Morrow Lindbergh Foundation and the local chapter of the Boy Scouts of America. Additionally, Rusty is a former member of the Episcopal Diocesan Council and finance committee chair of Southwest Florida Diocese. Rusty was named the Distinguished Citizen of the Year by the Southwest Florida Council of Boy Scouts in 2005.
